That Just Doesn’t Make Sense

“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?  Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation and my God.”  (Psalm 42:11, ESV)

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where all you can say is, “That just doesn’t make sense”?  Maybe it was at a job, or in a family setting, or talking with a friend, or watching the news.

The fact is:  Sometimes we just can’t make sense of why life doesn’t make sense!

We see things every day that we really never thought we would ever see … but now we do!  We hear things every day that we really never thought we would hear … from the world, friends, brethren and even family!  We hear them and can’t believe what we’re hearing!

This world of ours is ever-changing … people are ever-changing … and we are ever-changing!

The world that we live in can be and so often is crazy busy … crazy to understand … and crazy to accept!

Life just doesn’t make sense … people don’t make sense including our family, friends and even our brethren, at least as we think they should!!  And sometimes as these things happen, it’s like looking for all the puzzle pieces … and they are either not there or we just can’t fit it all together!

Yet, with all of the uncertainties and turmoil in our world and even in our very lives … there is a place where peace can always be found!  Always!

The place is in the Lord … in the power of His mighty presence and existence!  The place is in the out-stretched arms of His grace … in the tender hands that fashioned this world … and in the knowledge that He always cares … always loves … and will always be there for us!  Consider this always “… for He has said, “I will never leave your nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

God is always way ahead of what is going on in the world and in our very lives!  No matter what it might be … He is never … ever … caught off guard or surprised!

When life is crazy … when life doesn’t make sense … when we just can’t seem to figure it out … may we learn to remember the place to turn for answers is found in running into His arms … obedience to Him … praying and talking with Him about what’s going on in your heart, mind, and life!

Found in the pages of His inspired and revealed will are “all things that pertain unto life and godliness.”  Words that will always bring us comfort because “He is the God of comfort!”

Our loving Father is the ONLY certainty that can be found in an otherwise uncertain world!

C.S. Lewis writes:  “There are a dozen views about everything until you know the answer.  Then there’s never more than one.”
