Our Words … Gift or Dagger to the Heart?

Dad BlogThe quote here really drives home a sobering point to the tender-hearted person, doesn’t it? Words are important! This will not be a long diatribe or dissertation concerning our words! Realizing just how much the Bible addresses the subject of our words should be cause for more carefulness, but sometimes we’re slow learners and other times we just let our words rip!

What if the words you spoke to a loved one were the last words you ever spoke to them, how would they be taken or remembered? Would they be words that were a gift from the heart or words that were a dagger to the heart? You make the call!

What about the next words you speak to a loved one being the last they will ever hear from you; will they be as a gift from the heart or a dagger to the heart? You make the call!

What we’re saying is exactly the sentiment of the childhood song from Bible Class was saying, “Oh, be careful little mouth what you say …” how about trying to weigh more carefully every word you speak for the next several days … you’ll be glad you did … and so will others! Most importantly “…the Father up above who is looking down in love …” will be pleased!

“There is gold and abundance of costly stones, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.” (Proverbs 20:15, ESV).
