The Place of Bible Reading …

busytimeWEBHow busy has your day been today? Doesn’t it seem like every day is busy? Things to do … places to go … people to see. A week can go by in a blur before you know it. When we look back we wonder where the week went only to look at what our planner already has listed for the next week! Can you relate?

Could you just pause for a few minutes and ask yourself how much of a place you are actually giving God’s Word in your own life! We’re not talking about how much of a place we would like to give it, but in real time. Now don’t misunderstand me, this is not intended to be some kind of guilt trip article … well, maybe just a little bit!! The point is, if we’re not careful we can almost close the Word of God out until it’s time to load up and go to Bible Study and Worship services.

Let’s all decide that we’re going to put into our hearts and lives every day for the next couple of weeks, the experience of the Psalmist that he describes in a very clear and meaningful way: “Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts.” (Psalm 119:97-100).

Give His Word the prominent place it deserves … you’ll be glad you did!!

It is when we are busiest in our lives that we most need to read God’s word! Try listening on your way to work, leave bible literature in the restroom, have extra bibles throughout your home, and pray out loud when feeling overwhelmed! God’s peace can soothe your soul and reduce your anxieties! Such a great thought to contemplate, Bill! Thanks for the reminder of how we need to handle our priorities! Blessings to you!
