The Right Path to Take …

Path“But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.” (Proverbs 4:18)

Kids have an uncanny ability to see thru the masks of pretense, hypocrisy and insincerity! Very simply, kids can see who is for real … and who the phony is! In the same way, kids can recognize genuine concern, sincere compassion and honest goodwill. But more than kids or even other adults is the fact that God can see us for what we really are!

It is extremely important that we learn how to treat life, people and values in a genuine and honest way. The wise man writes by inspiration often about the choices we make about the paths we take. When the dawn of a new day first breaks, it is a wonderful sight to behold. As the sun begins to ascend the day get brighter and brighter. This is exactly the way it is when we choose to Be More Like Our Savior and Master, Jesus Christ!

The path that Jesus took throughout His entire time here on earth was the right path to take! Everything He thought, spoke and did was the right thing. Now, we all understand that unlike Jesus, we make the wrong decisions from time to time (Romans 3:23). But there is always a way in which we can become better. The Bible calls this process growing up in the Lord (2 Peter 3:18).

  • Jesus took the path of humility … always with no presence of pride or arrogance!
  • Jesus took the path of compassion … always remembering our weakness!
  • Jesus took the path of sacrifice and service … always the needs of others ahead of His own needs!
  • Jesus took the path of profound and genuine love … always putting His Father’s will ahead of anything or anyone else!

This path may seem too simple for our intellectually-minded world. This path may seem too mundane, too ordinary for a world that prides itself in being in the spotlight. But it is always the right path to take! Always!

“Let this mind be in your which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5)
