When We Hear Of Others’ Needs … We Go To His Throne!

“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.  The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” (James 5:16, NKJV)

God’s Book contains so many examples of His people talking to and appealing to Him to meet their needs and the needs of others in a time of crisis with the confidence that He not only heard their prayers … but that He would also answer their prayer according to His will!

This is one of the times!  May I share with each of you a specific request to be made to our God and Father?

On February 27th my friend, Jerry Flatt had a kidney transplant surgery in Tampa.  I was there.  I saw the medical team in action that is in charge of his care and they are incredible.  His son Scott, father of 5 children, was in another operating room donating a healthy kidney to his dad.  His daughter Lindsey, mother of 4 children including a 13-day old and a 2 year old was by his side as she has been for the past 2 years leading up to the transplant, burning the midnight oil to see that he was cared for in every way.  That evening his daughter Jennifer, whose husband is serving overseas, gave birth to a baby boy making her the mother of 3 as he joined his twin 1-year old sisters.  Add to that Scott, Lindsey and her husband Chris have been mainstays in keeping the family business running after their mother Elaine unexpectedly and suddenly passed away just 2 years ago.  The livelihood of their many employees is daily in their care.

The surgery went well but there have been complications that have caused Jerry to be hospitalized 2 times, including now.  This family is stretched so thin, and every day facing new obstacles and challenges.

Please pray for them with me.  Pray for Jerry’s complete recovery.  Pray for Scott, Jennifer, Lindsey and Chris and their families; for wisdom, strength, stamina and healing.

Many of us have found ourselves at that place where we feel as if just one more thing could break us down completely.

I am so thankful for the prayers offered up by many of you on my behalf in times past when I was not sure I could go another step.  I come asking for your prayers on behalf of this family that is very dear to me … a family that is truly desperately in need of prayers.

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
