Warnings from God’s Handiwork

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.  Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge.”          (Psalm 19:1-2)

The Psalmist who knew the Lord God so well confirms that our God has revealed Himself through His creation and through His inspired word.  It is up to man to either accept or reject these truths.

The recent events taking place on the big island of Hawaii are to say the least unsettling.  The power on display by the volcano Kilauea is staggering to our imagination and unsettling to the residents who fear loss of homes and property and it is obviously having an effect on the tourist industry as thousands have already cancelled their reservations.

If you have not seen it, please find news footage of the drone flyover of the lake of fire boiling inside the large crater.  A picture is worth a thousand words.

Curiosity may draw some, but for the most part people would rather be as far removed from it as they can!  Isn’t it the same when the subject of Hell comes up in a conversation?

We would rather not be reminded or confronted by the truth of its existence!  Jesus warned in Matthew 13:49-50, “… So it will be at the end of the age.  The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire.  There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

Our God is great … good … just … merciful … compassionate … loving and ever mindful of us.  He is also a God of justice and He requires of us to offer the entirety of self to Him.  He will never be satisfied with second place!

Hell is a place where men always die, yet never die; never live, yet always live!  Hell is a place where men live forever, but where there is no hope for which to live!

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies announce what His hands have made.  Day after day they tell the story; night after night they tell it again.” (NCV)
