When the Windows of Heaven Open …

f1efc48c6f0aa4440c446c8e03a9eae2“… Will I not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you such a blessing …” (Malachi 3:10)

There are times in each of our lives when we simply find the need to step back, take a deep breath, and take in the moment.  It happens at the birth of a baby when the new parents and the grandparents are overjoyed, wide-eyed and full of hope and anticipation for the future.  It happens with the graduation of a child or with a young person from whatever level of education and the sense of overwhelming pride and sense of accomplishment that we have for them.  It happens when you hear for the first time, or any time, “you’re hired.”

Life can offer so much disappointment, trial and heartache!  How wonderful it is when the “windows of Heaven open” and our gracious and merciful Heavenly Father grants our requests and the prayers of so many and the answer is even more than we could have ever hoped for!  The following words are for “just such a time as this.”

Our God is always good!  He is always merciful!  He is both a caring and comforting God!  For the last 16 years I have been fighting with everything I had along with my wonderful, devoted and loving wife and family to deal with the chronic and life-taking disease identified as Hepatitis C.  We were hopeful that one day they would find a treatment that would bring some relief and perhaps a cure.  After 4 separate treatment protocols, the latest known as Harvoni has finally been successful!  We are so very happy to announce that following the final blood draw to detect the virus in my blood, that it is UNDETECTED!  I am now considered CURED by the Baylor Liver Transplant Institute!  They have indicated there is less than a .05% chance of the virus returning!!!!

We want to thank each and every one of you for your many prayers, expressions of concern and love!  There have been brethren from all over the country praying for this day and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  We still have other issues that will be dealt with in time.  But for now, as always, we will continue to give God all of the glory.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20, 21)
