It’s Really Very Simple …

With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh let me not wander from your commandments!  Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”  (Psalm 119:10-11)

Every day of our lives decisions must be made … some are very easy to make while others may require more thought … while still others require a deeper level of contemplation.

It seems that in the busy and fast-paced world that we are living in there are always deadlines, red lines and even at times no lines that must be drawn.  Hopefully, we all recognize that the most important decision we can ever make comes down to this:  Live for yourself or live for God!

It’s just that simple!  Or is it?  Yes, it really is with the awareness that some decisions are more costly than are others.  The evil one would tell us otherwise.

Our God, knowing our frame and understanding our makeup, has given us guidelines to help us live in a way that pleases and honors Him.  He has already decided that there are certain things that are right for all people, for all times, for all places. And His word does not change … men change!  People, times, and places change but not the word of God!

Our wonderful God has given us clear principles which help us know right from wrong!  Living in a world that largely has abandoned most if not all pretense of biblical rightness, now more than ever His people must attain and maintain a commitment to purity daily.

If ever our world was in need of godly examples to see … it is right now!  In the face of so much darkness, despair and just plain evil, as God’s people we have the privilege and the responsibility to “Let our lights so shine before men that they may see our good works and glorify God in Heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

It is time for us as God’s people to stand up for what is right, good, honest and pleasing to God … even if everyone else is sitting down!

“Be strong and courageous” my friends!
